I am a bit of an audiophile, so I am not easily impressed by many systems I have sen and demoed to date. I purchased this system to set up in my living room, and am pleased with it. The sound is pretty good, and the bass is decent. It has a lot of features for less than a more expensive system. I was able to get this on sale from 6 Ave Electronics for 7 (in store). I appreciate the FM tuner and the iPod dock!

I am using the unit as an HDMI upscaler, and it does a pretty good job of it. When an HD signal is being fed to it, the system automatically goes into bypass mode, which means that the HD signal carries surround sound in it, and it knows what needs to be done already, so it disregards your settings. It is worth taking the few minutes to set up the speakers properly. You should enter the distances for each speaker as per the instructions, and also adjust the volumes on each one to your liking. I personally like more of a surround sound and less coming from the center speaker.

My only qualm about this unit to date is that it doesn’t have any type of audio out, so that I can feed the signal to another amplifier and add speakers throughout the rest of the house.

Overall, I am pleased with it. Its not a DJ setup that will push mind blowing bass and highs, but it does a great job of putting out a clean, well rounded sound. Audiophiles may not be fully satisfied, but the average person will love it!
